Results of the British Columbia freshwater recreational fishing survey, 2022 | Pacific Region

The primary data source used for this report was the Internet Socioeconomic Analysis (iSEA) Survey of Freshwater Recreational Fishing in British Columbia, 2022. This survey was administered by DFO Pacific and collected socioeconomic information on freshwater recreational fishing activity in British Columbia (BC) throughout the 2022 fishing season (from April 2022 to tMarch 2023). The survey questions were organized into two sections – fishing effort (days), and fishing expenditures. A random sample of 100,000 individuals, who purchased a Freshwater fishing licence in the 2022 season, were selected to complete the survey. In total 18,384, individuals completed the survey in full, which represents 5.5% of the freshwater fishing population. Read more below:
