Sponsorship FAQ

1. What is an impression?
   An impression is the unique number of times a page is opened in a browser and viewed. 
     
2. How long does it take 10,000 impressions to appear?
   This depends on the pages that the ad appears on. If an ad appears in a high traffic area, the impressions will run out in a shorter period of time. 
    
3. How do you track the number of Impressions an ad receives and how do I know when the number of impressions I purchased have run out?
   We track the number of times the page containing your ad is viewed on our server. It reports this information back to us and is extremely accurate. If you want to be notified when your impressions run out, we can have one of our sales staff email you.
      
4. What pages will they appear on? Can I choose where I would like them to go?
   All ads are for the run of the site.  You cannot specify what pages they appear on.
      
5. Is there a different rate depending on whether the ad appears in a more heavily viewed area?
   No. As the banners appear on a per impression basis, being in the more heavily trafficked areas results in the ad being viewed more often for a shorter period of time. In a lower traffic area, it may remain on the site much longer, but be viewed less often.
     
6. Can my ads appear on more than one page? Can the ads rotate throughout the site?
   Again, as the ads are per impression, having ads on more than one page is acceptable. The more pages the ads appear on, the more exposure they will receive and the faster they will expire. If you wish to run several different ads for the same company, you will be charged for each individual ad. At this time, rotating ads are not available.
     
7. Is there a price break based on the number of impressions ordered?
   Not at this time. If a large volume of banners are required, a discount could be arranged. A flat rate will be considered if there is an interest in long term exposure on the site. Please contact us for further information.
     
8. Is there a "click-through" fee?
   No. Payment is for impressions only. There are no extra fees.
     
9. My banner ad is a different size from the sizes specified for the site. Can it still be used or do I have to change it?
   The sizes specified for the site are standard for web advertising. If the banner you currently have is of a different size, you can arrange with us to have it altered for a fee.
     
10. What if I don't have a banner ad and would like to have one made. Can SFI provide production services?
    Yes, production services can be provided to create a banner ad. Contact our Webmaster to receive a quote.
    Materials must be provided in a digital format (Mac or PC). Extra production for scanning will be billed at the $150.00 / hr Graphic Design rate.
